Spring – the most anticipated season – is here!
It’s finally time to shed the heavy layers of winter and bask in the warmer temperatures. It’s time for Capri pants, brighter colors, and showing a little skin.
But if your hair and skin need a pick-me-up from the colder weather, you’re not alone. Winter can make skin and hair dry, brittle, and bland.
With this spring beauty to-do list, you can soon put that right, though.
An easy spring beauty to-do list
Here are five things you can do to look and feel your best and put a spring back in your step.
Make feet beautiful again
Are your heels dry and cracked? Get them in shape for sandal season with this easy three-step process.
- Soak your feet. Use water that’s warm, but not too hot. Soaking for 15 to 20 minutes will soften your feet. Some people like to add Epsom salt, essential oils, or vinegar to a foot bath, although plain water works too.
- Exfoliate. Towel-dry your feet, then use a foot file or loofah to exfoliate your dry skin.
- Moisturize. Cover your feet with a thick moisturizer, followed by cotton socks. Keep the moisturizer on overnight for softer feet in the morning.
Repeat this process as often as possible to get your feet in shape for spring.
Get your hair cut
When was the last time you had a haircut? Experts recommend cutting your hair every six to eight weeks.
Regular cutting prevents split ends, which can make your hair look dull and lifeless. A new haircut can also enhance your look, giving you an emotional lift.
Pamper your hands
Just like your feet, winter can leave your hands looking rough and dry, especially between your fingers.
Start moisturizing your hands with an oil-based lotion throughout the day. Coconut oil and olive oil are great natural moisturizers.
For beautiful hands overnight, coat your hands in lotion before putting on a pair of cotton gloves. Sleep with the gloves on, and you’ll wake up to softer hands.
Control frizzy hair
Spring is wonderful in so many ways, except for the way it frizzes out your hair. If your hair frizzes at the first sign of humidity, don’t despair. Try washing your hair less frequently for less frizz.
Also, check out your shampoo and conditioner; are they specifically formulated for your type of hair? For example, if your hair’s oily are you using the best shampoo for it? If not, it’s time for a change.
Using a microfiber towel to dry your hair may help eliminate frizz.
If all else fails, wear your hair up, or put on a headscarf or cap on extremely humid days.
Moisturize your face
If you don’t have a routine of cleansing and moisturizing for your face, now’s a great time to start one.
Experts recommend moisturizing your face twice a day for smooth, supple skin.
You’ll probably spend more time outdoors in the spring, so don’t forget to use sunscreen daily, especially on your face.
Spring is a time of awakening and renewal. Get your skin and hair in shape for spring, and you’ll be able to make the most of this joyous season.
This easy spring beauty to-do list is the perfect way to do just that.
